Although not set in the period, the book refers to Saint-Germain's birth in the Carpathian Mountains in 2119 BC, the beginnings of his vampiric existance and earliest years of undeath (2080-1949 BC).

Beginning during the reign of Nero (AD 54-68), Sanct' Germain finds his way through the political turmoil of the time, and becomes the lover of the incomparable Atta Olivia Clemens. They leave Rome in AD 71. -
218-220: ROMAN DUSK (1st pub: Tor, 2006)
The story takes place in Rome from 218-220, during the short debauched reign of Heliogabalus, who became Caesar at 14 and was killed at 18, two years after the novel ends. Focuses on some of the ways the Roman Empire failed to support itself at a crucial time and deals with the erosion of women's rights and the corruption of the civil service. - 430s: BURNING SHADOWS (To be published by Tor, 2009)

In 622 in Spain, Sanct' Germain makes a vampire of Csimenae. Csimenae kills mercilessly and creates vampires thoughtlessly. For five hundred years, she hunts until exposed as a vampire. Focuses on Csimenae and Spain over a period of about 500 years, ending around 1130. -

Saint-Germain makes his first appearance in a story that blends history and fiction as Saint-Germain is pitted against Satanists to preserve Madelaine de Montalia from ruin. - 1817: BORNE IN BLOOD (1st Pub: Tor, 2007)
Takes place in Europe in 1817 when Napoleon was out of the picture and a big weather shift was underway. In Switzerland, the Count Saint-Germain leads a comfortable life with his paramour Hero whose husband died fighting Napoleon. The Count has become intrigued by the work of an Austrian noble investigating the properties of blood. But when the noble's beautiful ward fixates sexually on the Count, the vampire fears for himself and his gentle lover. -

Madelaine de Montalia sets out in 1845 to live with and study American Indian tribes. Arriving in 1855 San Francisco, she and William Tecumseh Sherman, a banker, fall passionately in love. Madelaine finds herself trapped in 1860 Alabama during the Civil War and reunites with General Sherman. -
1910-1912: WRIT IN BLOOD (1st Pub: Tor, 1997)
A prequel to TEMPTING FATE, WRIT IN BLOOD reveals Saint-Germain's role in Czar Nicholas' attempt to stop World War I from beginning.
